Camus Mòr

Camus Mòr is a great place for relaxing and gazing out to the sea. In the distance you can sea North Uist and Harris and the islands in the Sound of Harris.

If you have a boat you can go round to the other side of the bay to see Uamh Oir ( The Cave of Gold).

Often you can see fisherman fishing from the rocks. Occasionally a seal can be seen resting on the jetty.

Before you come to the jetty is the camping ground with some basic facilities.

On the slope from the shore  is one of the many brochs in the area.

A chambered cairn lies over the hill towards Loch Chaluim Chille which has been drained since the mid 18th Century.
